WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!! ● ● ● SCNY member Grant Hochstein placed fourth in the senior men's event at the Challenger Series Ondrej Nepela Trophy in Bratislava, Slovakia. Alexander Gamelin (SCNY) and Yura Min also placed fourth, but in ice dance representing South Korea. Team USA members Erika Smith (SCNY) and AJ Reiss (LSFSC) placed sixth in pairs and SCNY member Nicole Rajicova placed seventh in ladies, skating for Slovakia. ● ● ● The SCNY regional and sectional send-off exhibition is 10:30am-12:30pm, Sunday, September 24th at Sky Rink and is FREE! Please come and show your support! ● ● ● Several SCNY skaters will be in Oberstdorf, Germany September 27-30, vying to secure the remaining open spots for their respective countries at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. Alexia Paganini will be trying to win a ladies' entry for Switzerland, Alexander Gamelin (SCNY) and Yura Min, an ice dancing entry for South Korea, and Paige Conners and her partner Evgeni Krasnopolski, a pairs entry for Israel. Team USA members Ashley Cain (SCNY) and Timothy LeDuc (LAFSC, assoc. SCNY) will also be competing at Nebelhorn. Helsinki, Finland hosts 2017 ISU World Figure Skating Championships March 29 through April 2, 2017. SCNY members Maia Shibutani and Alex Shibutani represent the United States in dance and Haven Denney and her partner Brandon Frazier represent the United States in pairs. Other club members include Slovakian ladies champ Nicole Rajicova, Israeli dance champs Isabella Tobias and her partner Ilya Tkachenko, and South Korean dance champs Alexander Gamelin and his partner Yura Min.
